Social innovation, goal orientation, and openness: insights from social enterprise hybrids

Abstract We empirically examine social innovation and openness through a survey of enterprise hybrids in the United Kingdom (UK). Social refers to new products, processes, services that respond grand challenges. enterprises pursue economic, social, environmental goals but vary their goal orientation, namely relative importance ascribed such goals. first explore relationships between commercial, orientation performance. Next, we consider moderating impact external knowledge ideas on Our analysis finds positive significant commercial performance, no relationship with orientation. In addition, use sources positively strengthens these for both not results reveal some important influences innovation, openness, hybrid organizing.
